How is polling rate measured here?
We time the gaps between mousemove events while you move the cursor around the box, then convert the average gap to Hz. Browser timing has some overhead, so treat the result as an estimate, not a lab-grade measurement.
Does higher polling rate matter for gaming?
For competitive, fast-paced games, yes — 500-1000Hz reduces input lag noticeably versus the old 125Hz USB default. For everyday use the difference is barely perceptible.
Why is my measured polling rate lower than advertised?
Browser tabs, background processes and USB power settings can all cap the effective rate below your mouse’s maximum. Test with other apps closed for a cleaner reading.
